How credits and billing work
- What consumes a credit?
- One credit is consumed when you generate an analysis and its addendum. Exporting or re-exporting the PDF for a report you already generated is free.
- Do failed analyses consume credits?
- No. A credit is only consumed once the analysis has run. If validation fails, your file is rejected, or the run errors before results are produced, no credit is deducted.
- Do regenerated reports consume credits?
- Yes. Re-running the analysis after changing the subject data or the dataset produces a new report and consumes a new credit. Downloading an existing report again does not.
- Do credits expire?
- Purchased credits do not expire. Monthly plan reports do: your monthly allowance resets at the start of each billing period and unused plan reports do not roll over. Purchased credits are only used after the monthly allowance is exhausted.
- How does cancellation work?
- Cancel at any time from the billing page. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, then the monthly allowance stops. Any purchased credits remain available.
- How do upgrades and downgrades work?
- Changing plan through the billing portal takes effect immediately and Stripe prorates the difference. The new monthly allowance replaces the old one for the remainder of the period.
- What is the refund policy?
- Email support within 14 days of a charge and we process the refund manually through Stripe. A subscription charge or renewal is refunded in full when no reports were generated in that billing period, and pro-rated by the unused reports when some were. Credit packs are refunded for the credits still unused. Reports already generated are not refundable. Cancelling stops future renewals but does not itself refund past charges, and if a payment is refunded or charged back the corresponding credits are removed from the account.

What your CSV needs
Required columns: sale price and gross living area. Optional and used when present: sale date, lot size, pool, bedrooms, bathrooms, garage bays, address. Files are parsed in your browser and never uploaded.
Diagnostics are shown, not hidden
Every run reports sample size, R², coefficient standard errors, p-values and confidence intervals, and tells you plainly when the data does not support a conclusion. See how the regression works.
Support and refunds
Email support, answered by the people who build the product, within one business day (Mon–Fri, US Central). Refunds are handled manually by us, not automatically: email support@compshield.app within 14 days of a charge. A first subscription charge or renewal is refunded in full if no reports were generated in that billing period, and pro-rated by unused reports if some were. Credit packs are refunded for the credits still unused. Reports you have already generated are not refundable. Cancelling from your billing page stops future renewals but does not by itself refund past charges.
Your data
We store your email, the reports you choose to save, and billing identifiers from Stripe. Card details never touch our systems. Full detail is in the privacy policy.

CompShield is an analytical support tool and does not replace the appraiser's professional judgment. The appraiser remains responsible for data selection, methodology, analysis, conclusions, and compliance with applicable appraisal standards.
